Wendy is a Belgian and came to Sri Lanka a few years ago on holiday with a tour group. After climbing the sacred mountain of Adam’s Peak, Wendy hurt her knees. The local guide Neranjan Bandara carried her all the way down the mountain and that was the start of something beautiful.
Wendy then moved to Sri Lanka where she and Neranjan built the homestay close to Neranjan’s parents. Their happiness is now sealed with their three beautiful daughters: Siyara, Sayuni and Shaniya.
Neranjan has grown up in the valley and has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the local fauna and flora and the history of his country. When he is not busy taking our guests on tours you will find him in the kitchen. He loves to cook and knows everything about the local food and its ingredients.
Wendy enjoys welcoming guests to the homestay while taking care of the children and the rest of the household.
Wendy, Neranjan and their children, Neranjan’s parents and Roxy the German Shepherd welcome you to Sandalwood Valley.
